Focus
May 5, 2021It’s easy to say pick one thing and focus on it. However, for a lot of people (myself included), there are so many things that are interesting that it makes it difficult to pick just one thing. It could be that fear of missing out, or that the things we pick interest us for a bit and then we want to go onto the next thing.
I am currently into stock trading and investing, reading, writing, blogging, affiliate marketing, gaming, miniature painting, game development, working out, hanging out with my daughter and fiancee, hanging out with family and friends, and then doing all of the life chores. At first glance, there’s a lot going on. There are obviously certain things that take up more time than others.
It took one day for another new thing to be added to my list: auctions. Welcome to the age of wanting to do everything. The barriers to entry in everything has also been lowered, which makes it easier to try new things out. It also makes it easier to get distracted. The answer to the question we all want is: how do you stay focused with everything going on?
There is no one answer to that question. You can have multiple approaches. You can schedule out your time and in that time you are simply dedicated to that task. You can eliminate the different options because you have one that you are more focused on. You can have different days to dedicated to different pursuits. You can also have certain passions/pursuits that you pursue at different levels. Some may stay more as hobbies whereas others may become full on careers. Focus can be a tricky thing to find but once you’ve got it stay with it.
